(Received Jan. 24, at 5.5 p.m.) The House of Lords has dismissed an appeal interesting to Australians and New Zealanders employed in Great Britain. Mr Harry Hartland, an employe© of the New Zealand Sh roping Company appealed against his income tax assessment. Counsel explained that Mr Hartland’s salary was £SOO per annum upon which the company paid £BO income tax, the authorities declaring that the £BO constituted an addition to the salary, and assessed Mr Hartland on £SBO. —A. and N.Z.
