EXPEDITION’S SUCCESS. NEW GUINEA EXPLORATION. (Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, January 22. The geological survey expedition which spent nine months searching for oil in Now Guinea has returned to Sydney. The leader states that they explored an area of 1000 square miles in the Aitape district, eighteen miles from the Dutch border a good deal of which has never previously been penetrated by (whites, but they natives (were friendly. Tho indications of oil surpassed expectations, conclusively proving the presence of petroleum. Another expedition will be sent to begin operations, which the Geological survey has justified. •*
