ARCTIC FLIGHT
THE WILKINS EXPEDITION, PARTY’S PREPARATIONS. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) OTTAWA, January 13. The Wilkins advance party for the Polar flight has arrived at Victoria, and sails to-night for Fairbanks, from where it will sledge • with the dog teams and supplies over the 400 miles along the winter trail to Point Barrow. Two Fokker aeroplanes are being sent to Fairbanks, where they will be assembled, and wpl fly to Point Barrow. Captain Wilkins expects to “hop off” across the Polar seas on March 21, taking only one plane. Each machine is capable of a speed of fifty miles per hour, carry30001b (weight.—Sydney Sun Cable.
