GERMAN POLITICS

FORMING A CABINET. IMPROVED PROSPECTS. (Ptcm A««ooiatlon —By Telegraph—Copyright,) LONDON, January 13. The Berlin correspondent of The Times reports that the Reichstag reassembled and formally adjourned to enable the parties to further discuss the Cabinet crisis. A solution is not yet in sight, but the prospects are somewhat improved. The parties appear to be taking the problem more seriously, which doubtless led to the peremptory tone of the President’s order that business must be cleared up by January 14; otherwise he iwould appoint his own candidate. All the parties are busy. —The Times. DR LUTHER TO FORM A CABINET. BERLIN, January 13. President Hindenburg bos charged Dr Luther with the task of forming a Cabinet. —Reuter. DR LUTHER’S PROSPECTS BRIGHT. WILL NOT COMMAND .A MAJORITY. BERLIN, January 13. (Received Jan. 14, at 8.5 p.m.) Though Dr Luther’s prospects of forming a Cabinet of the Middle Parties are considered bright in view of the certainty of the support of the Centrists, the Democrats, and the People’s Party, his Government is not expected to command a majority in the Reichstag. It will be dependent on the Socialists, and the German Nationals as occasion arises. It is universally anticipated that Dr Stresenmnn will remain at the Foreign Ministry. Ex-Chancellor Marx is mentioned as taking the portfolio of Justice. —Reuter.
