CONFLICT OP THE HOUSES. AMENDMENTS TO STAND. (Press Association —By Telegraph—Oopyrights SYDNEY, January 14. (Received Jan. 14, at 11.50 p.m.) The Legislative Council debated the Electoral Amendment Bill, and by 30 to 29 votes decided that the amendments made by the Council must stand. The Assembly appointed a Select Committee «f the House to enquire into the reason of the Council’s action.

The Assembly, after debating the Parliamentary Electorates and Elections Amendment Bill, which was vitally amended by the Legislative Council, returned the Bill to the Council with the comment that the Council’s amendments were considered an interference iwith the Government and foreign to its policy.
