GOOD EXHIBITION OF STOCK. (Pee . United Phess Association.) TIMARU, October 28. The sixtieth show of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association was opened to-day in fine weather. The entries numbered 1311. Considering the severe winter, stock showed surprisingly well, and the exhibition as a whole was very good. In merinos F. H. Smith took three chainpionships and J. H. Grigg one. Other championships were: —English Leicester ram, W. J. Kelland (reserve, A. S. El worthy); owe, W. J. Kelland (championship and reserve); Border Leicester ram, H. Ruddenklau (reserve, A. M. Copland); ewe, H. Ruddenklau (champion and reserve); Romney Marsh ram. Donald Grant (champion), J. H. Grigg ewe, C. H. Johnstone (reserve, J. H. Grigg); Shropshire ram. and ewe, Rupert ■ Parry; Southdown ram and J. H. Grigg; Suffolk Downs, Cargo Bros.; Byeland ram, Bayly Withell; ewe, John Brooks; Corriedale ram and ewe, Isaac Andrew; Short- • horn bull, J. MBride; championship for best got-up beast, A. S. Elworthy (Holme Station). The cup for the best milk and butter-fat record for the year was won by A. S. Elworthy’s Domino Van Thumper, with a yield of 16,530 Tb milk and 633.671 b butterfat, which is 5.671 b above the requirements. The champion harness horse was Miss I. Rutherford’s Blackthorne. . The Governor-General will attend the show to-day.
