Its financial policy would bo to raise revenue by the taxation of unearned wealth, and to remove taxation from the necessaries of life. It seemed most likely that the present Government, if it remained in office throe years longer, w-ould iniixi.se a full-blown system of Protection. Tho Labour Party stood solid against Protection, but it did not favour imports, the production of which involved the degradation of foreign workers. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
