FREE MARKETING LEAGUE.

COMPULSORY POOLING OPPOSED. REGULAR SHIPPING IMPORTANT, (Pm United Prjsbs Association.) WELLINGTON, October 19. At a meeting of the New Zealand Producers’ Free Marketing League, consisting of producers and delegates from the cooperative and proprietary factories, as well as representatives of the business community from all parts o f New Zealand, it was decided to approve of and encourage the Dairy Produce Control Board in its activities, except as to compulsory marketing and pooling of results, both of which are to be strenuously opposed by the league. It was also unanimously decided that the members of the Control Board should in future be elected by the single ward system. Several speakers congratulated the Control Board on the stand taken in connection with the shipping strike, as a result of which there had been little delay in the ship ments of butter and cheese. The hope was also expressed that the board would continue to pay close attention to the shipping question generally, such as providing steamers of more uniform speed and equipment, regulation of sailing dates, and elimination of delays in loading.
