Hpw B.S.A. Motorcycles climbed Mount Snowdon. Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales, can be ascended either by * rack ra Iwaylpr by a rough mountain path. By either route an altitude of 3 560 feet is attained in travelling 43 miles, giving an average gradient of steeper than I in 7, while in places the path assumes a s ant of lin 2. Four B.S.A. Motorcycles ascended Snowdon ’ last year, two taking the path and two the railway line. The path lay over loose shale and rough houlders, with innumerable extremely steep pinches, and the railway line route involved riding over long stretches of iron sleepers projecting three and four inches above the ground. For a considerable distance both routes followed a ten-inch track right on the' brink of a 2,00 » feet precipice Nor a nice place to go motorcycling, and the ordeal wa5.....:.:,, made worse by driving rain and a terrific wind. But all four B.S.A.’s came through. Two of them, of the 3.49 h.p. O.H.V. Model, ascended the mountain path in 41 minutes 8 secondhand 58 minutes 34 seconds respectively. A machine of the same model ascended - by the railway track in 24 minutes 6 seconds, and a lightweight 2.49 h.p. went up the same tragic in 30 minutes 54 seconds. These performances were officially observed, and are certified to by the Amo-Cycle Union, the governing body of motorcycling sport in Britain. Buy a 8.5.
