GENERAL NEWS.
Til ore was n large attendance at the meeting of Court Pride of the Loith on Wednesday evening last, the C.R., Bro. H. C. J. T. Bennett, presiding. A considerable amount of routine business was disposed of, and final arrangements made (or the celebration of the 61st, anniversary of the court, (Several members spoke on the last quarterly news sheet issued to members, and hearty congratulations and thanks were passed to the secretary and treasurer for compiling the sheets. Iho Williamson Membership Cup was won hy P.C.R. Bro. H. S. Vorcoo and Bro. C. S. llawes for the year just closed, and it was resolved that (ho winners hold the cup for six mouths each. Nomination of officers for the ensuing term resulted in a largo number of nominations being received, and the election will be very keenly contested. P.D.C.R. Bro. W. B. Anderson addressed the members on matters connected with the Pride of the Leith Foresters’ Hall Society, and urged all members to support the same. Two new members were admitted, and the nominations of six others were received and approved. A successful meeting concluded with cards and supper.^ Mr G. Stuart Thomson presided over a good attendance at the fortnightly meeting of Mornington Literary Society held on Monday evening. A reading of A. A. Milne’s play, “Romantic Age,” was given by Misses Cameron, Williams, Brown. Anderson, Messrs Thomson, Nimmn. 11. Nimmo, and Blylh. Expressions of pleasure the reading bad afforded and votes of thankn to those taking part closed the meeting.
