THE FEASTS OF JEHOVAH.

Mr F. Hunter, the evangelist from Wanganui, in continuing liis lectures on “The Seven Feasts of Jehovah” in the Art Gallery Hall last evening, took as his subject the "Feast of Unleavened Bread.” After reading Lev. xxiii., 5-8, he proefeded to give in detail the teaching connected with the Feast. Ho said he wished to stress again the importance of God’s people living right lives. In 1 Cor., 5, the feast was to be kept not with malice, which means the evil habit of the mind, nor with wickedness which means the same in words and deeds, but with sincerity and truth, the meaning of sincerity being transparency when viewed in sunlight. The Feast set forth clearly that God’s people were not their own, their persons, time, and possessions were to tie God’s. The unleavened bread was plain fare, composed of salt, water, and meal; it was also called the bread of affliction. The Lord Jesus Christ was (lie true unleavened bread, and it was written of Him that He whom God raised from the dead saw no corruption. In contrast the case of Lazarus (John ii.) was quoted; Our Lord said of his body that after being in the grave four days, by this time he stinketh. The feast of uu leavened bread was an offering made by fire. In referring to Num. xxviii., 1(5-25, the evangelist pointed out there was to bo uo laxity in its observance; the feast endea us it began; it lasted seven days. There were 10 sweet savour offerings to be made unto God during (he continuance of the feast. This evening at 7.45 the meeting will bo continued, when the heaven spoken of in the New Testament will be specially dealt with.—sß2s.
