MR ISITTS BILL. ARCHBISHOP AVERILL’S VIEWS. (Peb United P.bess Association.) AUCKLAND, July U. Archbishop Averill, speaking at a meeting of the Church of England Men’s Society, Auckland, said that he did not think that Mr Isitt’s Bill for the introduction of Bible study in the State schools ■would po through the House. He added: '* In the event of it being defeated, it seems to me advisable to press for a referendum later. Although 1 am not usually a pessimist, I am not very optimistic this time, owing to the tactlessness of so-called friends.
