PROHIBITION DECTTJRE AND PICTURES. The Now Zealand Alliance has undertaken educational propaganda among Hie, young folks throuphout the dominion, and with this object in view is making use of up-to-date kinomatopraph plants. In addition to a miscellaneous programme of pictures, which is arranged to suit all tastes, an educational film entitled “Safeguarding the Nation” has been prepared by medical and scientific experts in order .'o clearly illustrate the nature of alcohol arid its effects on the human system. This series of pictures was shown at the Mornmgton Methodist Sunday School last night before a large attendance consisting prin-‘ cipally of young people. The object of the. pictures is to depict (he evil results accruing from the consumption of alcohol, especially the reduced elliciency which follows. The film also illustrates (he various forms of eel I life of which the human system is composed, and the detrimental effect on it of oven a moderate indulgence ’a alcoholic liquors. The intention of (hose responsible for the production of i lie picture was to demonstrate the evils of intemperance. The oral explanation of the picture was •supplied by Mr W. T. Coad. The kinematograph was ably liandled by Mr David M‘Auslin. The meeting was presided over by the Rev. It. Raine. To-morrow evening the lecture will lie given and the pictures shown at the I’avcnsbournc Coronation Hall.
