ANOLO-AUSTRALIAN AGREEMENT. STATEMENT OF PROFITS. Pres* Association —By Telegraph—Copyright * MELBOURNE, July 9. In the House of Representatives Mr Bruce tabled a statement showing the amount of Australia’s share under the wool agreement between the Imperial and the Commonwealth Governments of the profits derived from tko sale of wool for other than military purposes. Mr Bruce said that after to the w'oolgrowcrs of a flat rate of Is sjd per lb on greasy wool and all charges, the profits from, the sale of wool, interest, exchange, and other sources was £54,954,379, of which £29,060,601 was distributed between 1921 and 191:4. The latest financial statement prepared bv Bawra showed the total funds to no £7 735,718, with a surplus amounting to £5*301,476. There was also £1,841,940 held in trust. 'Pile distribution of both of the latter amounts was a matter which was subject to litigation, HIGGINS CONTROL SCHEME. AH UNFAVOURABLE VOTE. MELBOURNE, July 9. A meeting of woolgrowers in the Stawell district considered the wool stabilisation scheme as proposed by Sir John Higgins. The vote resulted: For the plan, 12 growers, representing 12,000 sheep; against the plan, 14 growers, representing 41,000 shfjep. Several growers did not vote.
