NOTICES TO CORRESPONDENTS.
“Nervous. ” —Unsuitable. "Fair Play.”—The publication on the subject was closed some time ago. Why not communicate with the Inspector of Police ? “Interested.” —Under the woollen mill employes’ award the wages for girls are fixed as follow; —First ■ year, 15s per week; second year, £1; third year, £1 ss; fourth year, £1 10s; after four years, lid per hour. There was a bonus under the award of 1s 6d per week for apprentices and of Id per hour for those who have finished their apprenticeship. This bonus was cancelled by the Arbitration Court, but we understand it has not been discontinued by the employers. Overtime is fixed at time and a-half for the first three hours and double time thereafter. The last award was made in 1921, out there was then no reduction, as you suggest, in the wages. Evidently you are thinking of the coucellation of tho bonus.
