Arrangements were made for the forthcoming Norm Otago championships to be held in the Opera House on Thursday, 16. Large entries have been received from Temuka. Waimate, and Dunedin. In all 30 entries have been received. Instructions were given the secretary to arrange to have programmes printed and the carrying out of the draw. Railway Department’s refusal to allow the Australian Hockey Eleven which is to visit New Zealand shortly to travel first class at concession rates has had ita desired effect. The secretary of the New Zealand Hookey Association telegraphed Mr Coates regarding the question, but received an unsatisfactory reply. As a result he telegraphed further, and received this afternoon the following reply: Your further telegram, received. As a special consideration.
