LOAN PROPOSAL.
POLL OF THIS MOSGIEL RATEPAYERS. A poll of the ratepayers was taken at Mosgiel yesterday to raise a special loan of £7OOO to purchase from the Otago Presbyterian Church Board of Property the freehold of the land comprising sections 4 and 5. and part of section 6, block 6, East Tcicri Survey District, comprising by admeasurement 154 acres, bounded by Gordon road, Factory road, and the Silverstream. A good 1 of interest was manifested in the poll, and quite a. largo number turned out to hear the result, which the returning officer (Mr H. Butcher) announced ns follows: For the proposal 88 Against the proposal 265 Informal S Tbs proposal was therefore lost.
