HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE.
“The Outsider” was again staged at His Majesty’s Theatre last night, when there was another large audience. The story of the play is of an unusual character, and it quickly grips the attention and holds it till the last curtain. The outstanding part is that of the so-called “outsider,” or quack doctor, who, however, has medical knowledge and particular views as to how it should be applied. He is at last enabled to apply it to a cripple girl, and his treatment proves successful. As the “outsider” M. Maurice Moscovitch gives an outstanding study, clothing himself with the mantle, so to speak, of Anton Itagatzy, and interpreting his thoughts and methods in a most convincing manner, lie was responsible, indeed, for a very powerful piece of acting, dramatic, cynical. sentimental, and ho maintained his level of artistry throughout. Miss Jean Kobertson acted pleasingly in the part of the cripple girl, haulage Sturdco, and Mias Marie Eaton, Mr Basil Bowen, Miss Eileen Sparks, and Messrs Souper, Greenaway, Madison, MacKenzic-Ilogan, and Slack capably filled the other parts. The piece will be staged again to-night.
