HAWAIIAN ENTERTAINERS.
Who has not at some time or other dreamed of a visit to those paradise islands of the Pacific, where music, song, and dance hold sway the whole day long. To most of us, however, this must remain a dream. Mr E. J. Carroll, the well-known Australian entrepeneur, has, however, brought those dreams a good deal nearer by tho presentation to-morrow night of tho Hawai. ians at His Majesty’s Theatre. These Hawaiian artists, with their hnln-hula dances, plaintive melodies, and passionate interpretation of their national songs, almost bring the romantic palm groves of Honolulu into our very midst. Mr Kaai, the leader of the Hawaiians. has spent tho greater part, of his life in composing and collecting Hawaiian music, and many of his numbers are quite familiar to tho public. He has just concluded a tour of the East, which included India, China, Japan, Java, Siam, and the Federted Malay States. The first part of the Hawaiian programme will be composed of Hawaiian songs and dances, while the second part is “A bit of everything,’’ including some of tho latest hits and American and European jazz. A feature will bo the exhibition of hula-hula dancing by expert Hawaiian women dancers, who will wear the correct native costume. The hula-hula dance is as old as the Hawaiian race. The box plan for this entertainment is at tho Bristol, and the public are strongly advised. to book their seats to avoid being disappointed.
