RUGBY LEAGUE.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. The weekly mooting of (he Otago Rugby League was held last evening, Air J. T. Cooper presiding. The secretary of tho New Zealand League wrote stating that tho Otago members to take part in tho North v. South Island mutch at Auckland on Saturday next: must arrive in Auckland not later than Friday.— It was agreed that Thomas, M’Kay, Preseot, and O’Connor should leave, by the second express on Wednesday. The committee also stated that the New Zealand representative in Queensland had advised that tho difficulties of tho Now Zealand team touring Queensland would bo happily adjusted. Air Arthur Ellis wrote thanking the league for tho honour conferred upon him in his election as vice-president. He wished the league all success and ho believed it had a great future before it in Dunedin. The secretary was instructed to bring under tho notice of tho clubs that players must refrain as much as possible from talking on tho field during the progress of tho game, and (hat referees’ decisions must; not be questioned. All complaints must bo submitted to the Judicial Committoo. The Chairman stated that for future matches on the Oval it would bo advisable to appoint patrol stewards to assist in keeping tho spectators from encroaching on the touch lines.—Tho recommendation was agreed to, and it was decided to supply patrol stewards with badges. The Alatch Committee submitted tho following draw for tho common cement of the second round: —City B v. Pacific B, Christian Bros. A v. Kaitangata, City A v. Christian Bros. B. Athletic v. Pacific A. INTER-ISLAND AIATCII. THE NORTH ISLAND TEAM. (Per United P.resh Association.) AUCKLAND. June 22. The following League football team has been selected to represent the North Island against the South at Auckland next Saturday ;—Full—back, C. Dufty; three-quarters L. Brown, J. Kirwan, F. Dolgrosso; liveeighths—B. Laing, AI. Wethorall; half, Wilson Hall; forwards—E. Herring, A. Townsend,' E. J. Carroll, St Dixon, B. Avery, N. Bass. Carroll, who belongs to Wellington, is the only’player outside Auckland.
