Messrs, J.H,Dewar of Glasgow, Scotland, proprietors of "Dewar’s Special Liqueur ’Scotch Whisky desire to make it perfectly clear to I their patrons the public of N.Z., that they ar© in no way connected or associated with the firm of Messrs, John Dewar & Sons Ltd,, of Perth (who, in company with several other well known concerns are reported in the press to have recently amalgamated,) but ar© an entirely Independent firm of over EIGHTY years standing in the WhiskyIndustry and belong to no amalgamation, Messrs J.H.Dewar were established in Glasgow in 1842 I and are, therefore, the Original "Dewars”; B Messrs, John Dewar & Sons Ltd,, of Perth being S established years later, I Messrs. J. H. Dewar of Glasgow being an entirely independent firm are in the favourable position of being able to offer to the public of the British Empire what is rightly claimed to be the finest Whisky exported from Scotland, j Dewar’s Special Liqueur is guaranteed to be of the highest possible quality, being mild, mellow and of great age. It is a Whisky with over EIGHTY years of personal experience behind it and is composed of 53$ Malta and the finest ,of Grain, It has the proper mellowness produced by Whisky alone WITHOUT ANY EXTRANEOUS AIDS, and is distilled and bottled in SCOTLAND, Messrs. J.H.Dewar are the Original "Dewar" in the Scotch Whisky trade. Their rights to the trade name of "Dewar" are upheld by the High Court of Justice at Edinburgh, Scotland; see reports of Patent cases Volume 11, Page 277, Year 1900.
