AMERICAN WHEAT CROP
EFIECT OF DRY WEATHER. NO EXPORTABLE SURPLUS. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.^ WASHINGTON, Juno 10. The Weather Bureau reports that the hut, dry weather which depreciated the winter wheat crop by over 25 per cent, to Juno 1 lias since done more damage by prematurely developing the unfilled heads in many parts of the west, causing promature harvesting in Oklohoma, Southern Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana. Widespread rainfalls over the north-west ast week saved the spring wheat crop, which was menaced with entire detraction by drought. Texas and the rest of the south-west are still faced with loss of stock and field crops, excepting cotton, owing to the droughts, which are continuing unabated over the great plains regions The growing crops in the Ohio Valley and district aho suffered greatly. It is now estimated that the United States has only enough wheat to supply her domestic needs.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
