A RUTHLESS GENERATION
INQUEST ON MA#AIB VICTIM. COMMENT BY THE CORONER. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, June 10. (Received June 11, at 5.5 p.m.) At the inquest on Edward Rix, Sir George Lloyd's butler, a verdict of -wilful murder was re u rived, and Bishop waa committed for trial. The evidence disclosed that Rix discharged Bishop in February. The police submitted a statement in which Bishop said that he went to the house at one o’colck in the morning for no special reason. He stood outside Ris’s door and thought he was waking, so “I went in and 'hit him with a chopper. He was good to the other servants, but he was always messing me about.’’ The Coroner said it was a brutal murder. There seemed to be growing up a new generation of ruthless bovs and unmoral boys who thought nothing of taking a human life. The moral of this ease was “Alwavs keep vour door locked." —A. and N.Z. ‘Cable.
