LOOSE RIVETS.
in * THE RAKANOA DELATED. (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Juno 11. The Union Steam Ship Company's collier Rakanoa. which was to leave Wellington last evening for Newcastle, was detained in port owing to the crew refusing to put to sea ns they complained that some of the rivet holes in (lie ship's side were leaking. Water found its way into tho bunk of one of tho men and wet his clothes, and there was also a leakage into the men’s messroom. The matter was referred to tho company's head office. An inspector who subsequently visited tho ship stated that the leaks were only trivial and easily stopped. The Union Company’s officials, however, decided to detain the Rakanoa until this afternoon to replace a few rivets which were loose.
