AUSTRALIAN WOOLGROWERS

CONFERENCE IN NEW SOUTH WALES. QUESTION OF PROVIDING PACKS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, Juno 10. At the annual conference of the New South Wales Gra/iors' Association strong opposition was oppressed to a proposal put forward by the Bnidford Chamber of Commerce that the growers should provide woollen packs for their wool without compensation. A motion was carried that if the buyers desired woollen packs they should refund the cost of them. A motion urging the prohibition of the export of live "stud sheep was defeated. Dr Kater, in his presidential address, said that the past year had been a peaceful one so far as 'the industry was -oncorned. The season on the whole had been good, but the losses from flics must have been great. He regretted that the Government had done nothing to cope with the wild dog menace in the Western Division, and had not taken any action to reduce the harbour and lighter dues, which greatly handicapped the producer. STABILISING THE INDUSTRY". CONTROL SCHEME FAVOURED. SYDNEY. June 10. (Received Juno 10, at 10 p.m.) " The conference endorsed the decision of the council to ask Sir John Higgins to formulate a scheme for an organisation on the lines of Bawra for the stabilising of the wool industry.
