NASEBY NOTES.
(From Owr Own Correspondent.) Football interest centres around the match to bo played on Saturday next, when Ranfurly and Naseby’ will meet at Nase.hy. The keen friendly rivalry should result in a most interesting game, playejl in the best of sporting spirit. A large attendance of the public is anticipated. Naseby’s beautiful recreation ground suffered a loss last week in the felling of a large piniis insiguus tree, which had grown too' large, sheltering part of the ground from the sum It leaves at present a conspicuous gap in the row of beautiful trees which surround the ground, and which are a special feature of the town. However, the felling and cutting up of the tree has provided a supply of good firewood. A meeting of the Provincial Curling Council was held on Tuesday night. It was decided to hold the annual bouspiel at Naseby about July>22 if the ice were suitable.
