WELLINGTON’S EFFORT. SOAIE HANDSOAIE DONATIONS. (From Od.r Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Juno 9. Enthusiasm is being displayed in an effort to establish a Karitane Hospital in Wellington. Handsome donations have already teen made, several unsolicited. Amongst tho subscriptions received up to last night were; Tho Rotary Club, £2000; Kirkcaidie and Stains £590; Air John Kirkcaidie, £500; Air F. W. Manton, £lO5 ; Air D. Cogliill Peacock, £SO; Dr and Airs J. S. Elliott, £2l; —total, £3176. It was announced at the Rotary Club’s luncheon to-day that in connection with the appeal for £IO,OOO for tho Karitane Home the first £IOOO has been subscribed by Rotariau S Kirkcaidie and his interests. The chairman expressed the opinion that, with this as an example, there would be little difficulty experienced in obtaining the required sum. Rotanans- showed their appreciation of Rotarian Kirkcaidie’s efforts in no uncertain manner.
