WORLD’S GREATEST DINNER.
EIGHT THOUSAND GUESTS. COMING MASONIC FUNCTION. Eight thousand Freemasons will be present. in their regalia, at a banquet to be given by the. United Grand Lodge of England at Olympia on August S, in connection with the Million Memorial Fund. The jjuke of Connaught will preside. It is believed that this will be the greatest function of its kind ever held. The catering will be in the hands of Messrs J. Lyons and Co. (Ltd.) Some 50,000 plates and dishes. 2J.U00 glasses, and 100,000 pieces of cutlery will be needed. The arrangements will bo controlled from an office like the conning-tower of a warship. This will bo electrically fitted, and will convey instructions to any part of the hall. Waiting will bo done by 15(X) "Nippys. who, at a signal, will emerge simultaneously (nun 1.4 different openings in the screen surrounding the dining hall. Seven distinct kitchens, with service) rooms and wine bars, will be e r ccted.
