MINING.

The Wailii correspondent of the New Zealand Herald reports that in No. 3 winze now being gunk below No. 3 level on Muir's Reef at the To Puke Gold Reefs Mine, the last assay values of the reef for the full width of the winze were as follow: —At 182 ft down, £1 Os 3d a tori; at 183 ft, £1 6s 2d; at 187 ft, IGs 4d; at 190 ft, £1 4s. Only one wall of the reef was exposed.
