AVIATION FOR TURKEY

CAMPAIGN FOR FUNDS. SUCCESSFUL MOVEMENT. LONDON, May 27. A strong movement has been started in Turkey for the development of aviation. The Constantinople correspondent of the Times says that a campaign is being conducted by the newly-formed National Aviation Association, which is following the methods used by the Soviet Government in Russia. Committees have been appointed in different towns and communities all over the country for the purpose of encouraging the inhabitants to subscribe more than their compatriots in neighbouring towns. Tire town of Adana subscribed £BOOO. Wealthy Turks are giving largely to the movement, which has already been markedly successful. If the success is maintained, Turkey will shortly be in possession of a tolerably powerful air force.
