THE KIDNAPPING PLOT. CHARGE OF CONSPIRACY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LOS ANGELES, June 5. (Received June 6, at 5.5 p.m.) Three men wore indicted by grand jury on a charge of conspiracy in connection with tho alleged plot to kidnap Mary Pickford.—Reuter. It was reported last week that three men had been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to kidnap Mary Pickford. Detectives stated that the men arrested had been shadowed for two weeks. They planned to disguise themselves and to operate from a car. Miss Pickford was to have beon forced trom an automobile while bound to her home from her studio, and her chauffeur was to bo sandbagged. The kidnappers planned to demand 100,000 dollars tho day following tbc abduction, increasing the demands as the search spread. Miss Pickford was selected after Pola Negri, Buster Keaton, and others had been considered. Miss Pickford, in co-operation with the police, went through her picture work during the week as usual, her homo being heavily guarded. Adrian Wood, one of the men arrested, gave details in a signed confession.
