DUNEDIN CLUB’S MEETING. AU HE VOIR WINS BOYLE MEMORIAL. The meeting of the Dunedin Coursing Club was conduced at Forbary Park on Saturday. As on the tirst day, the game was strong and elusive, and the pursuers had hard work to run tuexr quarry to earth.- The officials for Saturday were Messrs Prebble and J. Ronald, the former, wielding the flags from the saddle, and the tatter officiating at tne slips. Au Revoir, the winner of the Boyle Memorial, was purchased from Mr V. Jackson, of Unaenvooa, by Messrs Price and Mitchell, and is a fine-looking animal. ■Messrs Dowling Bios.' Lupehte was runner-up. This dog was bred in Southland. Grand Slam, tile winner of the Supplementary Stake, is a Dunedin dog, owned oy Mr J. Matiiesou, and the runner-up,' Royal Lass, belongs to Mr G. Row, of Southland. Tins chase ended in a kill—the first of the day—Au Revoir leading. Man o' War by several lengths. Lupelite led Aevansport, and turned the hare to the escapes. Pinal Air V. Both dogs were returned to the slips aiter a no-course run. Prom the slipping of the leash Dauntless had the advantage by a length,* but Revoir forged ahead, and at the centre was leading to puss, eventually gaining the decision. . Some difference of opinion was expressed concerning the judge’s verdict, but the general opinion favoured the giving ol the flag to Au Revoir, SUPPLEMENI Ait Y hTAKE. Grand Slam beat Electric Spark. Lucky Lou beat Pirst Glance. Dauntless beat Minnie Misk. Tom Mac a bye. This round vJas evenly contested, though devoid of any particular merit, except perhaps for a very clever kill registered by Grand Slam. Slyly. Achieved also scored a kill on a descending scale. Second Round. Royal Lass beat Slyly Achieved. Grand Slam boat Irish Chief. Tom Miack beat Lucky Lou. Dauntless a bye. Royal Lass scored a clever kill after loading thiee lengths, while Grand Slam literally ran away from Irish Chief and turned lo lengths ahead of him. Semi-final. Grand Slam beat Royal Lass. Dauntless beat Tom Mac, Grand Slam’s victory was due to a great turn of speed, which easily gave him the advantage over Royal Lass. Dauntless had a hard tussle with Tom Mac, who drove to balk and turned after equal exchanges, but the black eventually gained the verdict. Pinal. Mr J. Edward s brd d Royal Lass, by Happy-go-lucky— Britain’s Pride. , T , Grand Slam and Royal Lass were released to a fast hare, and from the slipping of the leash the Dunedin dog drew away from Koyal Lass and led by eight lengths, ana turned to balk. Grand Slam beat the Southland dog, and came out winner of the stake.
