CITY POLICE COURT.

Tiiuxisdat, June 4-. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) Drunkenness. Duncan M’fvenzie, a statutory first offender, was lined 20s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment ,ou a charge of drunkenness. -Three first offenders wore each fined 10s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment, on similar charges. John Rowe was fined 13s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment, on a charge of drunkenness. For a breach of his prohibition order ho was lined 10s, in default, 25 hours’ imprisonment. Alleged Breaking and Entering.—William Leslie Lamb and John Milne word charged with, on June 2, at Caversham, breaking and entering the shop of George Madigan by night, and stealing two hair clippers, eight tobacco pouches, seven pipes, two Bengal razors, four cigarette holders, 21 packets' of razor blades, two watches, one clock, six watch chains, and sundry cigars and cigarettes, to a total value of £42 11s 2d.—Chief Detective Lewis, in asking for a remand till Juno 12, said Milne was already undergoing a period of probation, and Lamb was living with his parents.—The Magistrate granted each accused bail, self £IOO, with one surety of £IOO, or two of £SO, a condition being that they report, daily to the police. -Colin Frederick M'Donald was charged with breaking and entering the shop of William Hatton (Cavorshaml on the night of May 31, and with stealing goods to the value of £1 8s 3d. In asking for a remand until June 12, Chief Detective Lewis said that accused was the third man concerned in the case in which two men appeared on the previous day.—A remand tilt June 12 was granted, hail being allowed —self £SO, with one surety of £6O. or two of £25, a condition being that ho report daily to the police.
