Ministerial. The Hon. TV. Nosworthy (Minister oi Finance and Minister of Agriculture) received a number of deputations yesterday morning, and later in the day he paid £ visit to the Wingatui races. In the evening he was present at a gathering held bj the Overseas Club. The Minister wil leave Dunedin for his own electorate bj the 11.30 express to-day, and after spend ing a few days there will return to Wellington about the beginning of next week

Mr Haymes man a suitable reply. After a period of over 37 years in tn light service Mr James Anderson has jus retired on superannuation. Mr Andersoi Joined the service in 1887, his first statioi iieing at Cape Maria Van Diemen, and ii the entervening period he has at variou times been stationed at the majority of th lighthouses on the coast of New Zealand His last station was at Kahurangi' Point on the west, coast of the South Island. 1 is his intention to settle down with hi family at Mocraki. At the annual meeting of the Soutl Island Dairy Association yesterday M Walter Rush, of the WaitaH dairy factory Oatnaru. was presented with a nandsom silver cup and a gold medal awarded b the association, to the butter-maker obtain ing the highest average grade for expor butter for the period from October I, 1924 till April 30, 1925. Mr Rush’s averag grade was 93.941 points. As this is th third successive year in which Mr Rusl has secured the highest grade for butter th cup becomes his own property. A goli medal awarded to the cheese-maker obtain ing the highest average grade for expor cheese was presented to Mr George Robert* of the Maungatua dairy factory, whoa average grade was 93.465 points. Both r« cipients were heartily congratulated by th chairman of the association (Mr H. J Middleton) on their success. Wright, upon his retirement as an erect tivo ofßcer of the U.O. District, after fou vcars’ service. The District Secretary (Br< .1. K . Macfie), on behalf of the U.O. Dis trict, in presenting P.D.C.R. Bro. W Wright with a P.C.RCs sash and frame certificate, referred to his enthusiasm in a matters affecting the good of the order especially .in the opening of new court and rejuvenating the lives of old, ones of which the court at Kurow, which wa now most active and doing well, was'a: achievement cf which he (Bro. Macfii credited to Bro. Wright, by his devotm; unlimited time and his car on many oc cations to the objective. Bro. Macfie als presented to Mrs Wright an oxidised silve fiuit stand, as .a slight recompense for s ungrudgingly giving up the society of he husband during those four years to tfa good of the order, for which they thanke her.
