STIMULATING INTEREST.
ACTIVITIES OP DUNEDIN R.S.A. With the object of stimulating greater interest in the Dunedin R.S.A., Mr H. L. Paterson, at the executive meeting last night, suggested that a campaign extending over a period of one week be instituted. He said that functions could be held each day, And at night short addresses could be delivered, and an- appeal made for more interest, and as a conclusion a ladies’ night could be held. He suggested that sub-com-mittees should be appointed to deal with the various matters. If they, went into the matter whole-heartedly they would make a success of it. It was essential to stimulate interest and let the public know what the association was doing. Mr J. M'Crae endorsed the suggestion, but said he thought some definite objective should bo the aim. He suggested that it would be hotter to endeavour to raise the membership to 3000. It could be done. He thought that one of the facta which was causing the membership to drop was that the badges were not being worn. He was of the opinion that the executive should set an example and wear the badges. The Chairman (Mr P. S. Anderson) said that if the general scheme were approved of sub-committees could be appointed to bring down suggestions for the proposed week. It was decided to approve of the general scheme, and that a special meeting be held on Friday night to appoint the sub-commit-tees and discuss details. \ :
