EUCALYPTUS POISONING
INQUEST ON WOMAN. DEFINITE MEDICAL OPINION. Prana Association—Bt Tricgmph— LONDON, May 29. The Chelsea Coroner, inquiring into the death of Mrs Tugwell, aged 55, said to have been supposedly due to eucalyptis poisoning, remarked that if this was proved it would be of considerable medical and legal importance, because there was no similar case on record. It was slated in the evidence that the death room reeked of eucalyptus, and there were two empty bottles beside the bed. Dr Bronte, pathologist, stated that tho woman’s throat was yellow, which was a definite sign of the volatilisation ot eucalyptus. It was the first recorded case of eucalyptus poisoning, The coroner returned an open verdict, saying that the symptoms were similar U those of laudanum poisoning.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
