MEXICO AND JAPAN

TERMS OF NEW TREATY.

* JAPANESE IN MEXICO.

Pxces Association —By Telegraph—Copyngh t. MEXICO CITY, May 10. Under the new treaty it is announced that Mexico will treat Japan as a favoured nation. Japanese will be encouraged to come with their families, as well as to intermarry, as they are already doing, and to engage in all kinds of industrial, agricultural, and professional pursuits. Special encouragement is to be given to Japanese insurance companies. This is significant in view of the fact that powerful American companies withdrew from Mexico 10 years ago because the conditions were bad. The Japanese are exempted from military service, and are assured the rights of port entry and duties similar to those conceded to goods aboard Mexican boats.— Sydney Sun Cable.
