ETHEL OSBORN.

FIRST CONCERT THIS EVENING. This ovoning at Bums Hall Miss Ethel Osborn, the brilliant soprano, will make her first appearance before a Dunedin audience, when she will give the first of her two concerts, and this important musical event has created unusual interest, and there is no question that there is a .great musical treat in store for music lovers. Miss Osborn has had what can only be described as a meteoric career, and her wonderful voice and great art have placed her on the pinnacle of fame, and her voice has been described as “the wonder of the century.” Youthful and with great personal charm, it is said, she sings for the sheer joy of song; a keen interpretative sense, perfect enunciation, a full, clear soprano, extraordinary range, and of intense sympathy, those who have been privileged to hoar her declare she is the ideal singer. To-night Miss Osborn will present a programme of exceptional interest, and it should make a very wide appeal, for it has been specially chosen to give a little for everybody, and will include Handel’s Aria, Rend’ill Soreno, “The Wren,” “An Eastern Romance” (Rirnsky-Korsakoff). Granville Bantock’s “Dream Merchandise,” Hubonstein’s “I Feel Thy Breath Blow Round Mo.” the famous “Regnava ne Silon/.o” from Uonezotti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, “Grey Clouds” (Maurice Besley), rhe Little Men” (Jnlowiez), “The Dove” (Saar), and numerous other gems from her extensive repertoire. The associate artists, Madame Marie Borman (pianiste), Mr Tom Williams (violinist), and Mr Bernard Kenneil (vocalist), will contribute special numbers. The box plans are at the Bristol, and for the convenience of patrons 3s and 2s day sale tickets will bo on sale at the Bristol from 9 o'clock this morning. The second and positively final concert will be given to-morrow (Wednesday night).
