Cable. The Chancery Court was recently asked to interpret the will of Marie Corelli, whom counsel described as an adopted child, of origin unknown, with no known # next of kin. The question was whether Miss Bertha Vyvcr, of Stratford, a lifeion it friend of the novelist, was entitled to £IO.OOO deposited in the Bank of Scotland. It wps admitted that Miss Vyyer was entitled to everything which Miss Corelli possessed during Miss Vyver’s lifetime, but the Attorney-General on behalf of the Crown, opposed any bequest operating after the death of the tenant for life on the ground that Miss Corelli was heirless.
