LEE SMITH’S FOLLIES,

“The Follies,” a clever company now touring New Zealand, will appear shortly in the larger towns in the Central Otago district. The company played a short season in Westport and Nelson, where the performances were described as being of a very high standard. "Every item was heartily applauded, and the individual performers had frequently to respond to double encores. Miss Loo Smith is a noted singer. She has a well-trained voice, is versatile, and has a fine stage appearance. Doreen Adela is a graceful dancer, and is also a good accompaniste on the piano. Miss Jean Jeanette is a singer above the average, and is also a clever pianist. Jack Warner is a musician of some note, and Jolly John’s humour is said to be infectious. In his vocal items, patter, and character sketches he has proved himself a versatile performer.
