WEDDINGS.

A very quiet wedding was solemn'sed in the Balclutha Presbyterian Church last Wednesday afternoon, when Miss Pearl Campbell and Mr William Sheffelboin (both of Dunedin) wore joined- together in the bonds of matrimony. The Rev. Dr Currie, M.A., was the officiating clergyman. The bride wore a dress of white satin relieved with a silk girdle and the orthodox embroidered veil hold in place with a snrav of orange blossom. The bridesmaid (Miss Vera Maker) wore a dress of dove grey crepe de chine touched with (lame, with hat to match. Mr H. Uovd carried out the duties of best man.

A very pretty jedding of considerable local interest was solemnised in the Balclutha Presbyterian Church on Thursday last, when Miss Lexio Davis, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Chns. Davis, of Waitopeka, was joined in the bonus of holy matrimony to Mr Trevor Gibson, son of Mrs T. Gibson, of Dunedin. The Rev. Dr Currie, M.A., performed the marriage ceremony in the presence of a large number of’ friends and spectators. The bride was becomingly dressed in pink satin, relieved with silver trimmings. She wore a veil to match, with a band of silver leaves, and carried a beautiful of pink and lavender blooms. Miss Eileen Taggart acted as bridesmaid, and wore a pretty frock of lavender velveteen, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet similar to the bride’s. Mr Norman M’Donald carried out the duties of bent man. Mr and Mrs Gibson left by motor for the north on their honey moon tour, and on their return will take up residence in Balclutha. The bride’s travelling dross was a pretty fawn-coloured frock, with bat to match.

The marriage took place on Thursday evening last, at St. Paul's pro-Cathedral. Wellington, of Linda, eldest daughter of Captain aiid Mrs Post, Oriental liay, to Lindsay Richard Gilmore, of Wellington, son of the late Mr and Mrs R. J. Gilmore, of Invercargill. The Ven. Archdeacon Johnson officiated. The bride wore a graceful gown of ivory georgette and guipure lace over satin mantel with a prettily pleated bodice and circular skirt. A long tulle veil was held in place with orange blossoms, and she carred a bouquet of pink and white flowers. The three bridesmaids were the bride's sister, Miss Janie Post, Miss Jo. Kirkcaldie, and Miss Myra Post. The two former wore gowns of eau-de-nil georgette, the circular frills at each side bordered with lancer trimming and finished with diamante clasps and a golden chrysanthemum on the left shoulder. They wore green and gold bandeaux on their heads, and amber cluster necklaces, the gift of the bridegroom. The younger sister's frock was of pleated eau-de-nil georgette with «■ gold lace yoke and gold band for the head also a gold brooch, the bridegroom's gift. Mr John Rainey was best man, and Mr Douglas Mill (Auckland) was groomsman. When later Mr and Mrs Gilmore left for their honeymoon the bride's travelling gown was of nigger brown morocain with embossed georgette sleeves in cinnamon, a nigger cloche hat, and an African squirrel fur coat.
