At a London wharf a barge load of 40,000 bricks can bo unloaded between sunrise and sunset. The method adopted is to pass the bricks up out of the barge from man to man in “hands" of Pro bricks, tho last man stacking the bricks on the wharf. Thus in a day’s work each man handles 100 tons of bricks.
