IMPORT AND EXPORT RETURNS. THE FIGURES FOR JANUARY. I i— —- Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 12. (Received Feb. 13, at 5.5 p.m.) The Board of Trade returns show that the imports for January were £128,907,000, and the exports £09,000,000. Compared with January, 1924, the increase in the imports was £27,719,000, and in exports £4,815,000. The increases in imports were—Grain and flour, £4,745,000; meat, £3,382,000; non-dutiable food and drink, £2,576,000; wool, £5,037,000; cotton, £1,194,000; other textiles, £2,086,000; oil, seeds, etc., £1.485,000.

The principal increase in exports was m cotton yarns and manufactures—£3,sß2,ooo. The decrease in exports amounted to £1,969,000. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
