OTAGO v. NORTH OTAGO. A. CENTURY TO WORKER, A match was commenced at Carisbrook yesterday between Otago and North Otago. There was only a small attendance. Messrs Poster and Wilson were the umpires. North Otago won the toss, but Jones sent Otago in to bat on a slightly soft wicket. Co uracil and Allan were the opening batsmen, and Ziipmerman and Iviliter the bowlers for North Otago. The batsmen opened briskly, but when 20 had been posted Allan was run out- I—l4 —2L Caskie was the incoming batsman, and opened his account with a single and a four. At SO Hargreaves relieved Kinter, and In his first over Ccnradl was stum pea. 2 —35. Bardsley went out leg before to <he second ball. 3—0—33. When Keast had scored a single he was beaten by Hargreaves, 41 —-43, Sansom then came in, and with Caskie, who had been batting very nicely, carried the score to SO when the luncheon adjournment was taken. On taking strike again Sansom and Caskie scored steadily until 93 was on the board, when Sansom was run out In attempting a short one, 5—29—93. Worker in, and at once went for the bowling. At 20 Worker had a narrow escape of being stumped by Jones, and the next ball he hit out of the ground for sis. Caskie ana Worker scored 30 off two successive overs. When 210 was posted Caskie was Jiowled round his legs by Kinter. o—l 5—210. Holden was the new batsman. He made some attractive strokes for eight when he was out leg before. 7S—230. Kodger now partnered Worker, and shortly after Worker completed his century, and 250 was posted. At the tea adjournment they were still together, the score reading 277. On recommencing Kodger was clean bowled. S—2o—2Bl- Douglas followed and opened up by hitting a full toss to tile leg boundary. Douglas brought up 300 by lifting Hargreaves over the fence. Shortly after the same batsman hit another sixer to square leg. Carrington then came cn, and Worker was caught off him in the slips by Kinter. 9—120—328. Duncan was next man in, and the innings closed shortly after, Douglas being bowled, 10 —34 —331. Uttlcy and Zimmerman opened for North Otago, and the former, afeer making three, ■was clean bowled by Rodger. I—3 —3Jacohs came in, and Conradi took up the bowling at tho top end. Zimmerman made a nice stroke to square leg for four, but when 12 was on the board he played Conradi on. 2—7—12. Searle was the incomer, and after compiling nine ho cocked one up to Sansom at mid on. 3 Hargreaves was the now batsman, and runs now came more freely. Hargreaves scored three pretty fours on the leg side off one over from Rodger. Douglas and Keast came on at 49, and Dougins missed Jacobs in tho slips off Kcast’s bowling.
