OTAGO A. AND P. SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of tho committee of tho Otago A. and P. Society was held in the society’s 'boardroom yesterday morning, Mr George Black (president) in the chair. The President, in moving the adoption of the executive’s' report, explained that the committee appointed to report on Logan Park had not had an opportunity of inspecting tho land, but had communicated with tho City Council on the matter, and hoped that it would bo able to submit a report) at tho next meeting.—Tho motion was seconded by Mr K. C. ilazlctt and _ carried, Mr H. Turner moved tho adoption of tho Finance Committee's report recommending payment of accounts amounting *lo ATB7 3s 2d.—Carried. Mr T. 'it. Ritchie submitted a report of tho Grounds and Buildings Committee which recommended: (1) That an estimate be obtained for the top-dressing of the show grounds, especially the judging ring, whore the grass in many places was jveriahed; (2) for painting tho whole frontage of tho Crawford street buildings; (,°<) obtaining a report on the condition of tho electric light fittings in Brydone Hall. Mr Ritchie, in moving tho adoption of tho report, pointed out tho necessity of tho present wiring or Brydone Hall being put in order so as to ensure that there would bo sufficient lighting for tho Winter Show. _ The rejport also recommended tho carrying out of a considerable amount of repairs at Tahuna Bark to enable the next Summer Show to bo satisfactorily carried through.—The motion was seconded by Mr H. C. Campbell and carried. A sub-committoo was appointed to meet representatives from tho Motor Trades Aesociation in connection with the exhibition of motors at tho Winter Show. Tho question of arranging the date of the annual ram and ewe fair and fixing a limit for all flock rams was referred to the Lmnedin Stock and Station Agents’ Association for its opinion. An exhibitor at the Summer Show submitted several suggestions in connection with the light hort-ca classes which were referred to the Horsa Committee for their consideration. Mr W. R. Gawn and Mr George Ford wrote returning tho cheques forwarded them towards expenses incurred us judges. It was decided to place these amount's to a, special account and to thank the donors for their generosity. Tho Secretary reported that the conditions ■n connection with the offer from Messrs Kidd Garrett (Ltd.) of a 50-guinea gold keg r or competition in the choose section at the Winter Show had been approved, and that 'ull particulars would bo inserted in the schedule. In addition the following special nrizea had been received;—Messrs Donald Reid ami Co. (Ltd.) Sutton’s Cup for most ioinl.3 in roots section; D.1.C., £3 3s, for "ost noints in farmers’ butler; Mosgiel Woollen Factory £2 10s, for bread and cones section; Turnbull, Martin, and Co., l “ 3s, for cheese section; Ross and Glonbning (Ltd.), .£2 2s, for wool-elarsing competition; Stronnch. Morris, and Co. (Ltd.), "2 2s, fee fat lambs. Sub committees wore appointed for the dif- ' -rent sections at Die Winter Show, ar.d the ‘’’resident pointed out that it would bo necessary to revise the schedule before the next meeting, and requested members to ive the matter their consideration.
