CITY POLICE COURT.

FTu dat, January 9. (Before Mr 11. W. Handle, S.M.) Weak-minded. —A youth who was before the court recently, and was described as being mentally weak, was brought up on a cliargo of vagrancy.—Mr Bundle suggested that the police should withdraw the charge.—The charge was withdrawn accordingly. Broach of Probation.—-John Henry Irvine was 'brought before the court on a cliargo of breach of a probation order. —Accused pleaded guilty, and the case wa s adjourned to Monday on the application of the probation officer, who said that there were special reasons why accused should not got his liberty. Application would bo made on Monday for a cancellation of the order. By-law Breaches. —John Maurice Wilkinson, for driving a motor car without proper lights, was fined os and costs (7s). For leaving, a horse and trap in Bond street unattended, Adam Francis was fined 6s, with costs (7s). Jackson Bodal Walt, for driving a motor car without lights, was lined ss, with costs (7s).——Thomas George Valentino Blackley, for a similar offence, was ordered to pay eosls (7s).- Eric Walsh, for riding a bicycle on a footpath was fined ss. David Robert Cathro was ' fined 20s and costs (7s) for driving a motor car at a speed dangerous to the public across the intersection of Princes and High streets. Harold Maddigan was fined 5s and costs (7s) [or driving a motor car without lights. William George Collie was charged with having, on the 17th and 18th December last, driven a motor car without lights, and was fined ss, with costs (7s), on ttio first charge, and ss, without costs, on the second charge. Indecent Assault Charge.—James Thomas Bennie was charged with indecently assaulting a female at Roelyn on January 1, 1925, —Mr White, who appeared for Bennie, asked for a remand as ho had not had time to look into the case. The police wore agreeable to a remand being granted, and the case was remanded to January 16, bail as before being allowed.
