Old birds' nests in tire works haying stopped the church clock at Stoke Golding, near Hinckley, repairer* cleaned them, but the clock still refused to go. Examination of the lace shewed that connected behind it in the oidhdle-bole moving the hands more birds had built their nests eo closely together that they gripped the spindle and jammed it. Finger-prints telephoned from _ New York by means of a special -soda identified a criminal in Chicago.
