SEA CADETS.

NAVY LEAGUE’S PROPOSAL. DEPUTATION TO MR MASSEY. (Pbb United Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON. October 30. A deputation of delegates from the branches of the Navy, League in New Zealand waited on the Prime Minister to-day with a view to having the Defence Act amended to provide for portion of , the Territorial Cadets serving as sea cadets. A proposal was put forward for the training of sea cadets in naval camps, and giving general instruction in useful’ subjects It was suggested that fhe scheme first be put into operation at Auckland, and that the cadets bo known as the Jellicoe Cadets. Mr Massey, in reply, said there were difficulties in the way of finance, but he promised to do his best to put naval defence in New Zealand on a better footing.
