The keenest disappointment and a oor■tain amount cf resentment are felt by •R&gbyites throughout Scotland at the failure of the authorities to arrange matches with the New Zealanders. Although the Scottish Union is not taking action, and is unlikely to recede from its original attiBido, it is generally believed that efforts a,ro. afoot to arrange one match later in the season, independently of the union’s management. The greatest difficulty will bo in securing a ground unless the union sanctions the match. It is pointed out, however, that it might bo possible to secure an Association ground if tho game Was played in tho middle of the week. — A.- and N.Z. Cable. REPORTS OF MATCHES. : DELAY IN TRANSMISSION. (Fkm Ukttkd P&ebs Association.) WELLINGTON, October 29. Notification has been received from tho Telegraph Department that, owing to a protest having been made by a New Zealand firm against Press cablegrams receiving priority, the Pad tic Board cannot now Bee its way to expedite the transmission of football reports as promised. It has also been ascertained that there is great delay in the transmission of these reports from the provinces to London. Arrangements ■ware made to lodge a report of the first Bpell at the interval. The only result so far is that this message comes to hand with , the remainder, lodged at tho conclusion of the game.
