FENG’S TREACHERY DENOUNCED

Ptok6 Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. PEKING, October 28. A proclamation was issued by Marshal Chih Sich-yuan to-day announcing that the Military Governors of Kiaag-su, Kiang-si, An-hwei, Che-kiang, and Fn-kien, as well as practically the entire Chinese fleet, had decided to support Marshal Wu-Pei-fu. Chih denounces General Feng-Yu-hsiang for his treachery.—Reuter. CHANG AND WU. A HEAVY‘BOMBARDMENT. PEKING, October 28. (Received Oct. 29, at 8.40 p.m.) Authoritative reports from Chin-Wang-tao state that General Chang-Tso-lin’s artillery opened fixe on the railway area of Shan-Hai-kwan yesterday. General Wu-Pei-fu’s heavy guns replied with a prolonged bombardment, but otherwise there was no fighting and no change on the whole front.

A Chang-Tso-lin aeroplane registered a hit on the cruiser Hai-chi damaging the main deck.

A Tientsin message says that General Wii-Pei-fu is at present not advancing, and the indications are that a battle is not imminent. Wu is awaiting definite promises from the Kiang-su Hu-peh, and the Shang-tung provinces. The Senior Consul called on Wu-Pei-fu and drew his attention to the protocol forbidding the stationing of troops in Tientsin and its vicinity.—Reuter.
